BARACK OBAMA AND A CHANGE OF FATE

What happened to me this morning
Would not have happened yesterday
When my luck, fate dealt by the world in general just were not the same
Because yesterday, if I dropped a $10 bill outside as I did today it would have been quickly scooped up
Never to be seen again by me
But this morning, I dropped a $10 bill and it was still on the same ground where I dropped it when I returned
So, thank you God
And thank you America
For today is the day after Americans elected Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America
A nation that on a great autumn night in 2008, by a 7-some million margin, vote for change
Voted finally for true equality, erasing well over 200 years of color blindness, of injustice
Of far too much struggle for blacks
Of extraordinary barriers for blacks
Of which a break through appeared impossible
Until Nov. 4, 2008 when Barack Obama became the first black man elected as the next President of the United States of America
A country of the brave
Of the proud
And now a country that stands for all that is right
And that no longer talks from coast-to-coast that every man shall be treated equal
But a country that finally proved it
And though the White House will remain White
As well it should
The hallways, stairways, bedrooms, dining areas will finally be walked by a black man and his family
So guess what
Thanksgiving Day meals on Pennsylvania Avenue in our Nations Capital will be a whole lot more soulful in 2009
Even better for the country as a whole
Less money will lost be as fate proved for me today
The day after I voted along with millions of other Americans
For Barack Obama and a change of fate.
